ZIMBA at the 34th SFT Congress
17.06.2026
Between 2 and 5 June 2026, the ZIMBA project was represented at the 34th Annual Congress of the French Thermal Society (SFT), held in Nancy, France. The event, organised by the Laboratory of Energetics, Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (LEMTA), a joint research unit of the University of Lorraine and CNRS, brought together researchers, industry experts, and doctoral candidates working across the field of thermal sciences.
This year’s congress focused on a key challenge: supporting the decarbonisation of industry, at a time when fewer than 25 years remain to meet the 2050 carbon neutrality objectives. The event provided an important platform for sharing research and discussing innovative thermal solutions.
ZIMBA was represented by CEA, with the participation of Hai-Trieu Phan, Project Coordinator, and Mathilde Wirtz, WP1 Leader.
As part of the technical programme, they presented a scientific poster entitled:“Caractérisation expérimentale de deux éjecteurs pour un transformateur de chaleur à absorption NH₃–H₂O.” The work presented ejector integration within the AHT system, focusing on the design and implementation of an experimental test bench to reproduce real operating conditions and characterise two ejector geometries. These developments contribute to improving system efficiency and advancing low-carbon solutions for industrial heat recovery. Read the full poster here.
ZIMBA’s participation in SFT 2026 provided a great opportunity to engage with the thermal sciences community, exchange technical insights, and strengthen connections with key stakeholders working towards a more sustainable energy future.
